ಅಂದು ಹೋಂ ವರ್ಕ್ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಅನಿಸುತಿತ್ತು,
ಬರೆದು ಬರೆದು ಕೈ ನೋವುತ್ತಿತ್ತು,
ಮಿಸ್ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅಮ್ಮನ ಒದೆ ಹದವಾಗಿ ಬೀಳುತಿತ್ತು,
ಅದೆಲ್ಲ ತಪ್ಪಲು ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಮುಗಿಯಬೇಕಿತ್ತು..!!

ಆಡಲು ಸಮಯ ಕಮ್ಮಿ ಅನಿಸುತಿತ್ತು,
ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆಡಲು ಓದು ಬಾ ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪನ ಬೈಗುಳ ಕೇಳುತಿತ್ತು..
ಊರೆಲ್ಲ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಮನಸು ಕೊಗುತಿತ್ತು,
ಅದೆಲ್ಲ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲು ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಮುಗಿಯಬೇಕಿತ್ತು..!!

ಇಂದು ಸ್ಕೂಲು ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ, ಓದಿ ಡಿಗ್ರಿಯೂ ಪಡೆದಾಗಿದೆ,
ಆದರೆ ಹಣದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡುವ ಆಟದೆ,
ಬಾಲ್ಯವ ಕಳೆದುದೇ ಬೇಸರವೆನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ,
ಎಲ್ಲರು ಅವರ ಪಾಡು, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗು ಅವರವರದೇ ಗೋಳು..!!
ಇದನ ನೋಡಿ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಈಗ ಹೇಳುತಿದೆ,
ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾದದ್ದೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಧನೆಯೇ?
ಅಥವಾ ಅಂದು ಹಕ್ಕಿಯಂತೆ ಇರಲು ಬಯಸಿದ್ದೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಯಿತೇ..?
ಅದಕೆ ಈಗ ಅನಿಸುತಿದೆ... ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಎಂದೂ ಮುಗಿಯ ಬಾರದಿತ್ತು...!!
ಎಂದೆಂದೂ ಮುಗಿಯ ಬಾರದಿತ್ತು...!!!

ಒಬ್ಬ ಬಡ ಹುಡುಗ ಒಂದು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಹುಡುಗಿಯನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಹುಡುಗ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೇಮ ನಿವೇದನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಲು., ಹುಡುಗಿ ಈ ರೀತಿ ಅವನನ್ನ ಕೇಳಿದಳು "ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾಸಿಕ ವೇತನ ನನ್ನ ದಿನದ ವೆಚ್ಚಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾ.. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ನೀನು ಅದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಯೋಚಿಸಿದೆ?? ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಲವ್ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಮರೆತು ನಿನಗೆ ಸರಿಸಮನಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗು..." ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದಳು...

ಪಾಪ... ಆದರೆ ಆ ಹುಡುಗ ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ...!!

10 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ....

ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಶಾಪಿಂಗ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಅವಳು "ಹೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮದುವೆ ಆಯ್ತಾ?, ಬೈ ದ ವೇ  ನಿಂಗೊತ್ತಾ ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನ ತಿಂಗಳ ಸಂಬಳ 50,000 ರೂ.... ಎಂಡ್ ಒನ್ ಮೋರ್..., ಅವರು ನಿಂಗಿಂತಲೂ ತುಂಬಾನೇ ತುಂಬ ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ಕಣೋ..." ಎಂದಳು...
ಆ ಪದಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತ ಹುಡುಗನ ಕಂಗಳು ತುಂಬಿ ಬಂದವು...

ಕೆಲವು ನಿಮಿಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಅವಳ ಪತಿ ಬಂದು ಎದುರು ನಿಂತಾಗ, ಈ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ನೋಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು...

"ಹಾಯ್ ಸರ್! ಏನ್ ನೀವ್ ಇಲ್ಲಿ..? ಚಿನ್ನು, ಇವರೆ ನೋಡು ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಲೈಂಟ್.... ನಾನ್ ಹೇಳ್ತಿದ್ದನಲ್ಲಾ ೨,೦೦,೦೦,೦೦೦ ರೂ. ಮೊತ್ತದ ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀನಿ ಅಂತಾ..., ಅದು ಇವರದೇ ಕಣೇ.. ನಿಂಗೆ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯ ಗೊತ್ತಾ... ಅವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವಿವಾಹಿತ... ಒಬ್ಬ ಹುಡುಗಿಯನ್ನ ತುಂಬಾ ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ರಂತೆ, ಆದ್ರೆ ಅವಳು ಇವರನ್ನ ಬಿಟ್ಠೋಗ್ಬಿಟ್ಟ್ಳಂತೆ... ಆ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ದುರಾದೃಷ್ಟವಂತೆ ನೋಡು... ಇವರಂತ ಮನಸಾರೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ಹುಡುಗನ್ನ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗೋಕೆ....!!"
ಅಂತ ಹೇಳಿ ಸುಮ್ಮನಾದನು...
ಈಗ ಕಣ್ಣೀರ್ ಹಾಕುವ ಸರದಿ ಹುಡುಗಿಯದಾಯಿತು...!!!

As human-being is most intelligent spiecies on earth, his body too is one of the most complicated, but yet a wonderful "machine", which too needs "oil" (health) keep running. Right from the day he is born, he is with nature and needs to fight with nature to stay fit and strong. A healthy body can accomplish this goal.
As our ancestors were blessed with good health due to their food habits and hard work efforts/tension free life. We, the "much advanced generation" neither have good food habits, nor do hard work to keep ourself strong. With advent of "modern lifestyle", we are leading ourself to unhealthy habits thus making ourself "a room for diseases".

As said above, health being major part of our life, we need to follow steps/measure to keep ourself healthy. Before, i,e few decades back, though the healthcare facilities were not advanced, people still managed good health. But due to polluting enviornment and unhealthy habits now a days, we need modern healthcare measures to keep ourself fit. So we need to approach a effective healthcare system.

With advent of technology and science, modern healthcare has jumped leap-bounds beyond imagination. New inventions and innovations keep adding in healthscience which is aimed to keep fellow human-beings healthy and strong. As the measure, new hospitals with ultra-tech facilities provide better care and standards which are tailor-made to each individual. With advent of "Cashless Insurance", healthcare has not only been limited only to few but it has reached to snmall and needy ones with more people getting access to better healthcare. Many hospitals in our localhood are now providing affordable treatment which has on-par excellence compared to advance countries.
Compared to olden days where diseases like cancer and heart diseases were treated as "ways to death", now the modern healthcare gives technology bliss even to an unborn and same to an aged individual. Modern healthcare benefits a expecting mother to safeguard her unborn baby and after its birth, gives same safety to her baby everlong. Now a days, Even the terminal stages of a disease can be cured in modern healthcare. The advanced technology helps accurate identification of diseases and works on its prevention. Dedicated and learned medical staff make our life to live in a wonderful and better way.

Being in a nation which is rated best among the hospital and healthcare facilitator, I feel that modern healthcare is indeed growing into new heights, As there are many things to tell which cannot be covered in few words, but Modern healthcare is bliss to individuals like us who always expect to stay healthy and strong. This indeed touch lives and protect mankind as saviour.

"Marriages are made in heaven. But to arrange it, pass through the hell..!"


As said by everyone, marriages not only make a beginning of new life, but also gives new responsibilities. People who enjoy every inch of "batchelorhood" may not accept this statement, but how long they can remain bachelors!! after all a loving one/heart is required at some part of life. Cannot expect a vehicle (of life) run on a single tyre all time...!!

Coming back to matter: Love Marriage or Arranged Marriage.., whatever the mode of marriage may be, there should be "love" seasoned with "trust" in both the individuals. If marriage is just for passion and lust, probably the Indian culture would not have got its strong roots compared to western cultures, where marriage happens for "satisfaction" and ends in "divorce" and "compensation"...!. We Indians still believe the sacred values of marriage and thereby follow it to whole life...

Ages before when there was a scenario where bride never used to see face of groom or vice-versa until "that day" are gone and even arranged marriages have courtships and exchange of "sweet moments". With the advent of latest technology, people might afford to miss their close friends, but not their "fiancees"..!!. Now all the marriages (except of few exceptions..) happen with mutual consent of boy and girl.

Arrange marriage has its own benefits. At first, if wife creates a problem then husband can blame openly to everyone and if husband does a problem, same thing can be done by wife (I am joking, but fact is love marriages lack this since couple have to adjust among themselves because same "everyone" will blame the couples ("it was your choice", "why did you marry him/her if you didn't know about him/her" are common sentences fired..). Arrange marriages do have freedom to some extent as couples are well understanding each other limitations and may help each other at some moment. But Love marriage might cause a rift if little "misunderstand"ing happens, often couples blaming among themselves for taking "foolish "decision" (but few exceptions, couples who are "Love" marriaged have proved themselves best against "Arranged" ones..)

Another benefit of "Love marriage" is no "Dowry" problem, which can be sorted out if girl is really strong. If boy loves and marries a girl, he (if he has truly loved the girl..) will not dare to ask dowry. If girl is earning and has her own income, she can stand on her own feet (In arranged marriages, rarely marriage happens without a dowry and here girl has rights to ask new husband to feed her because he ate "Dowry" before..!!). Arranged marriages suck out "blood" from girls family (by the time band-bhaaja and bidaai ends..), but a "love marriage" can be completed in a "registration office"..!

Above examples are just few cases on how "Our Society" runs on tracks of "Love Marriage or Arranged Marriage", but whatever the case is, the marriages can turn successful if there is proper understanding between couples. In the days of modernization where people accept western culture but forget their own roots, both arrange and love marriages should reap benefits to both family and society from which a healthy nation rises.

ಅಣೆ-ಪ್ರಮಾಣವ ಮಾಡಿ ಒಂದಾದೆವು
ಅಂದು ನೀಲಿ ಆಗಸದ ಕೆಳಗೆ..
ನೆನಪಿದೆಯಾ..?

ಇರುವೆನು ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಂದೂ ಜೊತೆ,
ಇಡುವೆನು ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಹಾದಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ..

ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾ ತಿಳಿದೆ.. ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬಯಸಿದ ವಸ್ತುವೇ ನೋಯಿಸುವುದು ನನ್ನ..

ನೆನಪಿದೆಯಾ..?

ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಲ್.ಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಿ.ಯು ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳು ಹೊರಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮುಂದಿನ ಜೀವನದ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಸಹ ತೆರೆದಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಮುಷ್ಕರ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆನುದಾನದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ, ಹೋರಾಟಗಳ ನಡುವೆಯೂ ಉತ್ತರಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳ ತಿದ್ದುವಿಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಬೇಗನೆ ಮುಗಿದು ನಿಗದಿಗಿಂತೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳು ಹೊರಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಪಾಸಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಹೇಳತೀರದು. ಉತ್ತಮ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀಟಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ, ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ಪೇಕ್ಟಸ್ ನ ತರುವುದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೆಡೆದೇ ಇದೆ. ಇದೆಲ್ಲದರ ನಡುವೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಅಂಕ ತಗೆದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರೀವ್ಯಾಲುವೇಷನ್, ರೀಟೋಟಲಿಂಗೆ ಸಹ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಗುಜರಾಯಿಸಿ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಕಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಯೆಂದರೆ ಫೇಲಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯ ಅಥವ ಸುಸೈಡ್ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ...

ಪಿ.ಯು / ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ಎಲ್.ಸಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳು ಹೊರಬಂದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನದಿಂದಲೇ (ಇಂಟರ್ನೆಟ್ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ..) ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಾವು "ಫೇಲಾದೆ"ವು ಎಂಬ ಒಂದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಶರಣಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. "ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫೇಲ್, ** ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ" ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ/ಟಿ.ವಿ ಚಾನಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವುದ ಕಂಡರೆ ಮನಕ್ಕೆ ದಿಗಿಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಲವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಂತೂ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಬರೆದ ದಿನವೇ "ಪೇಪರ್ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿಲ್ಲ" ಎಂಬ "ಕ್ಷುಲಕ" ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಘಟನೆಗಳು/ಸುದ್ಧಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನೆಡೆದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದವು. ಕೆಲವರು "ಹಾಲ್ ಟಿಕೆಟ್" ದೊರೆಯದ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಶರಣಾದವರು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ...

ಬಹುಶ: ಇಂದಿನ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ "ಕಾಂಪೀಟಿಷನ್" ಯುಗಕ್ಕೋ, ಪೋಷಕರ "ಅಸೆಗಳ" ಭಾರದ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೋ, ಅಥವ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ "ಉಹೆಗೆ ನಿಲುಕದಷ್ಟು" ಎತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅಸೆಗೋ ಏನೋ, ಬಹುತೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಒಂಬತ್ತನೆ ಕ್ಲಾಸ್ ಪಾಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದಂತೆ "ಜಗದ ಭಾರ" ವನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೈಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. "ಸಾಧಿಸಿಯೇ ತೀರಿಸು...", "ಅವನನ್ನ/ಅವಳನ್ನ ಮೀರಿಸು...", "ಫಾಸ್ಟೇ ಬಾ.." ಗಳ ಹೊರೆ ಯಾವ ಕಾಲದವರೆಗೂ ತಾನೇ ಹೊರಬಲ್ಲರು...!. ಕೊನೆಗೆ "ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ" ಎಂಬ "ಪಾನ್ಡೋರಾ" ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ತೆರೆದಾಗ, ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಸೌಧ ಕಳಚಿಬಿದ್ದು, ಮನ ನೊಂದು ಅಗುವ ಆನಾಹುತಗಳ ಸರಮಾಲೆ - ಈ ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಕರಣ..

ಇಂಟರೆಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಅಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ಈ "ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣ" ಗಳ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ "ಬಹಳ" ಮುಂದಿವೆ..!! www.rediff.com/news/2004/apr/15spec.htm ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯಂತೆ ಪ್ರತಿತಿಂಗಳು ೧೫ ಜನ ೧೫ ರಿಂದ ೨೫ ವರ್ಷದ ವಯೋಮಾನದವರು ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳೂತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ೨೦೦೨ ರ ಅಂಕಿಗಳಂತೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವು ೧೦,೯೩೪ ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯ ಸಾವುಗಳನ್ನ ಕಂಡಿದೆ.. ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ತಾಣ (www.maithrikochi.org/india_suicide_statistics.htm ) ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಚಿಸಿರುವಂತೆ ವಿಶ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಶೇಕಡ ೧೦% ಅತ್ಮಹತ್ಯ ಸಾವುಗಳ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತ ದೇಶದಿಂದೇ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ೧೦.೫ ಪ್ರತಿಶತ ತಲುಪಿ (ಪ್ರತಿ ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ..) ೨೦೦೬ ರ ವರ್ಷ ಮತ್ತು ೧೯೮೦ ರ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ತುಲನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ೬೭% ಪ್ರತಿಶತ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ... ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಭಯಪಡುವ ಅಂಶವೆಂದರೆ ಇದು ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಏರುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದೆ...!!

ಸಮಾಜದ ಒತ್ತಡ, ಪೋಷಕರ ಒತ್ತಡ, "ನೆರೆಯವರ" ಒತ್ತಡ... ಒಂದೇ-ಎರಡೇ... ಎಲ್ಲಾ "ಒತ್ತಡ" ಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಇಂದಿನ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ/ಯುವ ಸಮೂಹ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸೆ, ಕೋರಿಕೆ ಗಳ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಪರರ "ಕನಸುಗಳ" ನೊಗವ ಬೆನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತು... ತಮ್ಮ ದಾರಿಯ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇತರರ "ಕನಸಿನ" ಕತ್ತಲ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಡೆದುಹೊಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಹುಶ: ಅವರ ಮನ ಎಷ್ಟು ನೊಂದಿರುತ್ತವೋ ಏನೋ.., ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಸಾವಿನ ಹೆಗಲ ಮೇಲೆ ತಲೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಮಲಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ...

ಜೀವನ ಕೇವಲ "ಒಂದು ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ" ಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸ್ತೀಮಿತವಲ್ಲಾ, ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಲು "ಸಪ್ಪ್ಲೀಮೆಂಟರಿ" ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಇದ್ದರೂ, ತಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮಾರ್ಗವಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಹ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ "ಕೊನೆಹಾಡುವ" ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಸುದ್ದಿಮೂಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿರಾಜಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇವೆ...

ಇದೆಲ್ಲದರ ನಡುವೆ ಮನವು "ಥ್ರೀ ಈಡಿಯಟ್ಸ್" ಚಿತ್ರದ ಹಾಡನ್ನು ನೆನೆದು ಕೊರಗುತ್ತದೆ:

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ/ಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಬರುವ ನೋವು, ದುಗುಡಗಳು ಶಮನವಾಗಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಫಲಗಳು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿ, ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನಸುಗಳು ಸಾಕರವಾಗುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದೇ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬ ಆಶಯ, ಪೋಷಕರು ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ "ಕನಸುಗಳ" ಒತ್ತಡವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇರದೆ ಅವರ ಕನಸಿಗೂ ಬೆಲೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮುಂದಿನ ಉತ್ತಮ-ಸ್ವಾಸ್ಥ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗುವರು ಎಂಬ ಸಣ್ಣ ಬಯಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಲೇಖನ..

As I saw our IndiBlogger, in association with "The Yahoo Dove Real Beauty Contest" has announced contest "What does real beauty mean to you?", I really felt pleasure to write something on this so called magical word "Beauty" which all of us term mostly on this perishing human body, but often forget everlasting beauties like nature, sweet moments, kind words, good deeds, happiness.. as it goes on and on, i would like you to share a story about a person which i read, the story of whom though earned lots of "earthly pleasures" called "Money", still shows the world that you can use the same for the noble cause and give everlasting "Beauty" to all the needy faces on this earth...

After completing Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from New York University, he had hold prestigious jobs in real estate side, leveraged buyout company, investment firm and a holding "Berggruen Holdings, Inc.". His "Berggruen Holdings, Inc." found in 1984, is now net worth at $2.2 billion -- as per the forbes.

Yes, after all, we fellow humans like (have tendency) towards wealth and indeed, run behind wealth. But what Mr. Nicolas Berggruen has done to this mankind, might make others learn and experience "Beauty of life" and joys in sharing what you have with the needy in this world...

You might be shocked to know that having earned loads of money via above said buisnesses, Mr. Nicolas, except than his art collections and a car, has given up/donated all his so called "pleasures" and stays in hotels. The words he said below indeed shows "beauty of life which needs to be enjoyed at the most".

As the world filled with "People" who boast about their money, their possessions, their richness and "their hidden corruptions", Mr. Nicolas teaches us in a simple way that "Life's beauty exists in sharing, but not just keeping with yourself... when the happiness is seen on a needy's face, it is much beautiful than the other ones.."

In days when people select hobbies as part of their activity, swimming is also considered one among them. We are seeing the sharp increase of swimmers around our place just to keep them lean, slim and fit. There are booms of swimming classes mushrooming around places especially during summer vacation where children around 4 + are of main stream. Even parents rush to a nearest swimming centre to get their child registered among the few selected names and pay as per their limits. But people in pursue of health and fitness are unknowingly moving themselves towards the hazard… Cancer.


Yes, though sounds strange, it is now a known phenomenon that water causes cancer. Don’t be surprised, but yes, the chemical used to purifying water itself is causing cancer(Trichloroisocyanuric Acid). The high quantities of chlorine content used to ward off water contamination are major concern now a day. As there are no stringent measures to monitor the water and the chlorine content usage, the concerned people/authorities who take up water purifying process just mix chlorine into water and release the water for commercial/personal purposes. The same when used for drinking and cleaning is causing grave concern for human body and health. Though there are many research done on this field, what matters is the effect the high chlorinated water is causing on skin.

Trichloroisocyanuric acid is the inorganic compound with the formula (C3Cl3N3O3. It is used as an industrial disinfectant, bleaching agent and a reagent in organic synthesis.[1][2] This white crystalline powder, which has a strong "chlorine odour," is sometimes sold in tablet or granule form for domestic and industrial use.


Use in water treatment


The compound is a disinfectant, algicide and bactericide mainly for swimming pools and dyestuffs, and is also used as a bleaching agent in the textile industries.

Applications: It is widely used in civil sanitation, pools and spas, preventing and curing diseases in husbandry and fisheries, fruits and vegetables preservation, wastewater treatment, algaecide for recycling water of industry and air conditioning, anti shrink treatment for woolen, treating seeds, bleaching fabrics, and organic synthesis industry


Benefits of TCCA in Swimming Pool-


Available with 90% chlorine concentration


Due to high chlorine content, handling is easy for large pools.


Reduces chlorine loss during day time. TCCA is stable it does not strip like any other halogen compounds.


Reduces algae growth.


Dissolves slowly in water, allowing for continuously metered dosing of available chlorine, especially when in tablet form.




Drawbacks of TCCA in Swimming Pool-


Cyanuric Acid (CYA) build-up from TCCA use can decrease the effectiveness of Free Active Chlorine (FAC) over time.


Such build up can only be reduced by dilution with water that does not contain CYA.


The economics of this effect can greatly reduce the cost-effectiveness of high chlorine availability in TCCA.


At high CYA concentrations, normal chlorine levels can be rendered ineffective, requiring either dilution by draining and refilling the pool or by adding abnormally high doses of chlorine to overcome this effect.

From long time, we know that how the skin darkens if we swim in chlorinated waters of swimming pool for long durations. With the eyes, skin and hair getting direct exposure, the eyes turning red or hair turning dull are common symptoms. The most dangerous is skin which is protective sheet for human body. The skin cancer caused by chlorinated water is fast among young aged than adults as their skin is more sensitive and still under generation. The frequent exposure of children to these waters is more now a days and without suitable precautions, the swimming institutions are gifting “deadly diseases” to future generations. Neither the swimming coach nor the institute are concerned about these ill effects and what matters them is “Money”... But at end, it is children who suffer the consequences. The cause is the effects are not noted at initial stages and when the advance stage reaches, the treatment procedure and cost rise causing severe panic in those families.

Now what matters is we should take precautionary steps to avoid dangerous effects of
chlorinated water. The parents must take initiative into this and avoid children joining the swimming courses in places where there are alarming levels of chlorine content. The probable usage of removing chlorine and its odor problems is to filter the water with granular activated carbon (GAC) or by using suitable chemical-removing filter media, such as KDF which are available with many manufacturers now.

Also, the swimming institutes must monitor the water supplied and take measures to decrease chlorine levels by installing suitable equipments in their places and put details of chlorine content used in water, how safe the water is by pasting details of chlorine and purity levels of water.

Though the step may not be feasible in terms of monetary gains to these institutes, but still, a proper precaution can be taken or initiated from both parents and institutes where it will be beneficial to both child and parents, creating a healthy and stronger society with well grown and stronger children.
